Thank you for the guidance on the stroller running. Like you said, running with the car seat must be fun anyway -- you can watch your little girl as you go! I'll definitely say hi the next time I see you at a race. We're lucky to have a nice little group of extremely fast women here in Rochester to keep the competition fierce. I call you ladies the "local elites." I have yet to be one of you, but truly admire you all! Happy running (and momming!)Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01537009928060713169noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2422411720783541847.post-3663258645344042142017-09-19T12:47:21.565-04:002017-09-19T12:47:21.565-04:00Also if you ever see me out running or at a race p...Also if you ever see me out running or at a race please don't hesitate to say something, would love to meet you in person!Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01325067352277421071noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2422411720783541847.post-23533140897377168362017-09-19T12:46:39.145-04:002017-09-19T12:46:39.145-04:00Hi Stacey! Sugar coating doesn't help anyone, and we all go through things differently but at the same time we can still learn from and appreciate others experiences. I hope your pregnancy is going well and kudos on still getting miles in!!! Is this your first?

Re: Stroller running with Hannah, I personally chose to wait until I had pediatrician approval. I never asked him during her first few checkups (we went weekly for a while because she was preemie) because I wasn't running. I asked him for approval WITH the car seat and he said okay and that was at her 2 month checkup. Even now at 4.5 months I am still using the car seat in the stroller for runs- she's broaching the stage we could probably try without but I will air on side of caution and probably keep her in it for a while longer. The added weight of the stroller and car seat just make me stronger, right?!Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01325067352277421071noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2422411720783541847.post-14116530801713197302017-09-19T12:39:27.945-04:002017-09-19T12:39:27.945-04:00Thank you Amy! And ...Nice job in Bergen and at the Rochester Half! And congratulations on little Hannah! She is beautiful. I'm a local runner/ fan of you and have to thank you for writing about your pregnancy and postpartum running experience so candidly. So many new mom runners feel like they have to run up until the moment they give birth, and then snap back quickly. Not only is it often unrealistic, but it puts unhealthy pressure on us all. I'm 33 weeks along now and though I'm still plodding away some miles most days of the week, I have zero concern about pace or overall mileage. I do it because I love it and it still feels good. If I have to stop in 7 weeks, or tomorrow, I'll be ok with it. Running/racing will always be there and you remind me of that... thank you!
Question -- How many weeks was Hannah when did you start stroller running with her? I got a cheap used Bob and am also skeptical about how much I'll like stroller running, but am eager to give it a try :)Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01537009928060713169noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2422411720783541847.post-75805295087056356052017-09-18T09:59:55.126-04:002017-09-18T09:59:55.126-04:00I'm really glad running is going well for you!...I'm really glad running is going well for you! Your race times were really great and it sounds like you're doing a good job of pre-hab and taking care of yourself, and balancing everything with being a working new mom. Glad to see you blogging again too because I really miss your posts!
