Dear Lord where the hell has time been going. I've been slacking on here for a week now, mainly because life happens, but that's kind of the point I suppose.
Last week was crazy jam packed with travel, work, workouts and life.
A mini-scrapbook if you will...

Lots of things with my name on it all week for work |

Scenes from Sunday: a 5k, spin, coffee, lake, and walking with my man...it was a great day! |
The short of it: Last week was great to be away and do different things for work, but nothing beat coming home. I missed my fiance, our home, and my "usual routes" along with everything else. I was pretty tired Saturday and was glad I had decided earlier in the week that doing the Oly-Tri was not going to be feasible after a week of travel (got in late Friday night, and race would have been Saturday AM). Saturday night John and I had a little date night since I was gone all week, dinner/movie/ice cream our typical MO but I love it. I knew I wasn't going to see my dad for father's day (He was fishing a few hours away) but it was still a good day for a 5k, and heading to Seneca Lake to be with John's family.
Back at the office today, or should I say offices. I won't go into details, it's a little confusing but basically I am working for 2 different people now (but they also work together in a way). It's a step in the right direction for me and gets me more exposure with the things that I am studying for my Series 7 Exam.
I hope everyone had a great week last week and a fabulous weekend for Father's Day!
I'm always so ready to get back home after a week away, too. Hope it's a great day getting back to normal!
ReplyDeleteAww! I love the pictures of you and your dad! And I love the little traditions everyone has with their dads! It's totally a daddy's girl thing ;-)
ReplyDeleteWhat's funny is I really am NOT Daddy's girl (my sister is), we have our little things that we do together and jokes between us but we are too much alike (stubborn and short temper) so we do better in small doses :)
DeleteNo matter how much fun a trip is, it is always nice to get back home.
ReplyDeleteThere really is no place like home! Helps having loved ones to come home to!
Deleteummm i really wish someone had me for their tattoo!! that is awesome :-) i hope you get back into the usual routine this week, although last week sounds like a nice break up of the usual! so cool that you found a trail to run on and everything!
ReplyDeleteHaha it's crazy to say someone has ME tattooed on them, but at least I can say it's my dad and not some cray cray ex boyfriend (that I know of at least!)
DeleteThose cupcakes look yummy!
ReplyDeleteThey were fabulous and they were cheap too!
DeleteDon't you love puddle jumpers? We have to take one when we visit my parents. The pilot also is the one who clears the runway of snow in the winter. Fun! :)
ReplyDeleteGlad you are home and back with all your favorite things!
That was actually my first time on a puddle jumper. I was skeptical at first but it wasn't so bad. I got lucky and there was good weather for it so I didn't have to deal with a ton of turbulence.... my only issue was my ears were killing me!
DeleteAwe I'm glad you had such a good time. I was so proud of you in your 5k this weekend and even more happy you were able to gt some decent workouts in on the trip. I love the photo from your 21st, you guys look so happy.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you had a fun trip, but you are right about getting home- travelling is fun but it's stressful to find places to eat, places to work out, things to do, and of course having to work on the road when you really just want to explore a city or something! Plus flights are stressful!
ReplyDeleteWay to go on your 5K too, you are so speedy!
Awwww! Love your Dad! Those pics are adorable. Good for you for getting out for those runs on the trip! :)
ReplyDeleteIf you don't mind me asking, what do you do for work? I've always wanted to travel for work.
ReplyDeleteThose little cupcakes look DELICIOUS!!!
I work for a small financial planning firm (think 401ks, IRA's, bonds, etc). I went to IA because our Large Broker-Dealer headquarters are there. This was the first time I have traveled for work and it was nice change from the office scenery. This job will have me travel maybe 1-2x year (conferences and workshops), so it's not much at all-but better than always being home I suppose.
DeleteThe cupcakes were amazing, small handmade and each had different filling. I was totally expecting the 4 of them to be like 12 dollars, and it was 4, yes 4 dollars for all 4! (perk of a small town!)
Your job sounds pretty cool. I SO don't get the 401k, IRA stuff. Haha! That's a really good deal on those cupcakes! Yea, I was expecting you to say you paid $8 or something for it!
